Have you ever wished that you could take life's pressures, disappointments and sudden changes more in your stride?
To feel less swamped and more in control?
Meditation and Mindfulness will equip you with the skills you need
The good news is that just like riding a bike or learning to play an instrument, meditation and mindfulness are just skills that anyone can develop.
In our Thursday lunchtime 'Zen Sanctuary' seated exercise class we combine seated (chair based) mindful Qigong exercise with guided meditation practices. An hour of restorative movement for the body , and tranquil guided meditation for the mind. Ahhh!
Qigong, in case you haven't heard of it before, is pronounced Chee Gong. It's the 'mother' of Tai Chi, with a 5000 year old history originating in China,. It's practiced by millions around the world for its great health benefits. The basis of Qigong is that we can influence the health of the body by the movements of body and mind.
We'll practice about 40 minutes of mindful seated Qigong exercise (slow and gentle) and 20 minutes of meditation, (divided into two different 10 minute meditations) in an average class.
I hope you'll find that this class becomes the 'sanctuary' where you can retreat from the pressures and demands of life for an hour, and when you leave that you'll feel more equipped to navigate your life's journey
There's nothing to bring but we ask that you wear a facecovering for this class whilst covid rates are high (April 2022) as the room is quite small, although we do keep the windows open for ventilation
Our venue at Mytchett is easy to reach from Aldershot Farnborough and Camberley and there is a tea room who serve hot meals and snacks on-site.
