Tai Chi for Health with Surrey and Hants Tai Chi & Qigong

Our Aldershot Venue

Find us at Alderwood SENIOR school, Tongham RD GU16 4AS. The school is set back from the road, so follow your sat nav and watch out for the yellow school zig zags on the road just after the road bends left. Turn into the school gates (right) and park in any of the car parking spaces on the left or right. Head over to the 'Alderwood Leisure' entrance. Turn left once inside and we are in the Gym, straight ahead. 

Tuesdays 8pm Tai Chi- specifically for Beginners

The Tuesday 8pm class is exclusively for September new joiners. There's no pressure, no rush. Our instructor Cherry has 18 years experience. She has trained extensively in China, UK, Europe. Tai Chi is her passion. She will guide you through the movements with clarity and patience and will make it fun.  She will help you achieve your wellness goals whilst enjoying the process :)  Booking now - click here

What happens in the 8pm Beginners class?

We start with loosening exercises before learning  the Tai Chi foundations - These are slow mindful Tai Chi walking exercises, focusing on posture, relaxation and breathing. We use these as the foundation for all other movements which are built 'from the ground up' Gradually the traditional movements of a 'form'/kata of Tai Chi are learnt. This class will suit you if you can attend regularly and want to improve your wellbeing whilst learning an ancient art and developing your skill. 

Tuesdays 7pm, Qigong - Improvers and Beginners

The Tuesday 7pm class is  our most relaxing class, Qigong (literally 'Energy Work' ) is the forerunner of Tai Chi. It has no martial arts connections and is purely gentle exercise for health, coming under the Chinese Medicine umbrella as a method of smoothing and promoting the flow of energy around the human body.  It;s slow, meditative and repetitive. Expect to float home in a state of bliss and feel 10cm taller :) This class will be open to current class members initially, and thereafter to beginners who are specifically looking for Qigong over Tai Chi.
